Playbright content is general reference information about playgrounds. It is not legal, engineering, medical or compliance advice, and it does not replace the current edition of an applicable standard, a qualified inspector or your local code. Use of the site is at your own risk.

Playbright publishes general reference information about playgrounds: safety guidance, standards, surfacing, equipment, cost, accessibility, maintenance and design. It is written to be accurate and it is sourced, but it is general information, not advice about your specific site, project or situation.
What this site is not
- Not legal advice. Liability, procurement law, licensing and insurance are jurisdiction-specific and belong to your attorney or your carrier.
- Not engineering advice. Structural, geotechnical and drainage decisions on a real site belong to a qualified professional.
- Not medical advice. If a child is injured, seek medical care.
- Not a compliance assessment. Nothing here certifies that any playground conforms to any standard. See the annual audit for what a real assessment involves.
- Not a substitute for the standard itself. Editions change, and the edition in force where you are is the one that governs your site.

Frequently asked questions
Can I print a checklist and use it at work?
Yes. Printing a checklist or a table for use on your own site, in your own organization, is exactly what they are for. What is not permitted is republishing pages, packaging the content as your own product, or presenting it as a certified inspection document.
Can I link to Playbright?
Yes, freely, without asking. Links to specific pages are preferred over links to the home page when you are citing something particular, and a link is more useful to your readers than a copied paragraph.
Does following this guidance make me compliant?
No. Compliance is determined against the current edition of the standards and codes that apply where you are, by someone qualified to assess it. This site explains what those documents require, which is a different thing from certifying that a specific playground meets them.
